Bubba Reding "A Country Legend"
|
|
Bubba entered his lifelong career in radio broadcasting at the age of 18 starting out as a disc jockey. His career moved to advertising sales and he soon became the owner of three different radio stations: KBOP 1380 AM, KBUC 98.3 FM, and KBUC 95.7 FM. He received the Wiley Award (recognizing his outstanding contribution to Country Music in Texas) on June 29, 2000. Bubba's true love of country music was evident by his induction to the Country Music Association of Texas Hall of Fame on October 26, 2000. Bubba helped local talent with their careers playing their music long before they were recognized. He was always the first major station to play the local artists. Bubba's activities and hobbies included Member of Alzafar Shrine, certified scuba diver, licensed pilot, coin collecting, wood working and he always looked forward to Christmas when he would drive his fire truck throughout the countryside with Santa aboard entertaining the local children. He always put the needs of others before his own. Bubba passed away on September 29, 2000 before his time. |
